St. Maarten is a small island split between the
French and the Dutch. The different sides of the island have different
government, different phone systems and use different electrical
voltages. St. Maarten seemed to me to be mostly a tourist trap. I spent
four days here, and used the place mostly as a launching pad for the
other islands. I did tour around the island on the minibus system,
which was cheap and convenient.
Most everyone here comes to go clubbing and go to the casinos, two things I'm not that interested in.
