I took a day trip from Antigua to St. Kitts on a
whim. St. Kitts is a nice relativly underdeveloped island. There is one
major resort, but there are plans to put in more. The place is
undergoing the beginnings of a resort development boom, and everyone
there seemed to think that the future of St. Kitts was tourism.
I really think I should have spent more than a day here. I missed
the Carib rock carvings, and I would have liked a chance to surf!
I don't know if there were any surf shops, but the surf looked
good.
The people here were really friendly. They still hadn't picked up
the jaded "go for the cash" mentality that is on the major resort
islands. I wonder if that will change with more development?
