      • Kava for the Samoan Head of State

        The Samoan head of state is in Honolulu, and is to be honored with a traditional royal Kava ceremony. The Samoan chief of protocol at UH contacted Prof. Skip for an appropriate plant, and I helped out since I'm on the Kava Development Council (don't ask).

      • WYC Taro patch cleanup!

        Volunteer work cleaning a taro patch for the paddling club. We went to a farm in Waiahole Valley on the windward side of oahu and leveled a loi and planted some taro. We then did tug-of-war and taro patch rugby. Fun times!
